For Questioners

1. What do I get when I start a PeopleStorm?

You get an online brainstorming session with our community of amazing creative thinkers. It's more than just a Q&A session. Once you post your question, you'll have a real dialogue with our People, including ideas, comments, and simple up-and-down voting to let you really interact and get the full benefit of this collaborative brainstorming process.

3. How long does a PeopleStorm last?

PeopleStorms last for 24 hours. The first 12 hours is for idea generation, and the second 12 hours are for voting and ranking the great ideas.

2. How much does a PeopleStorm cost?

There are three fees for setting up a PeopleStorm. The first is the reward that is being offered for the Storm, and that ranges from $10 to $25. There is also a 10% surcharge on that reward to cover processing and administrative costs, and a $9.95 listing fee.

4. What happens at the start of the brainstorming period?

An email alert goes out to our community to help with your brainstorm. This tells them about your question and the reward for great answers, and provides a link to your brainstorming page so the process can begin.

5. What happens during brainstorming?

For the first 12 hours, our People come and suggest great ideas. They can also leave comments on other ideas, and do simple up-and-down voting to help express their opinions on the ideas that have been suggested.

For the second 12 hours, our community votes on the ideas to help you get their feedback, and to see how the community ranks them.

6. What happens at the end of the PeopleStorm?

The top 3 ideas are each rewarded with 40%, 20%, and 10% of the reward for their great ideas, respectively.

Another 20% is the "get out the vote" fund used to encourage People to vote during the voting phase.

The final 10% of the reward goes to the two top user-contributed WordStorms that help spark the most popular idea (they get 5% each).

7. Is my PeopleStorm open to the public?

Yes. Your brainstorm is not only open to our community, but anyone on the Internet who may also be able to contribute great ideas.

8. Who owns the ideas that are suggested?

In order to fulfill the purpose of the site, ideas are granted for use to PeopleStorms.com and the PeopleStorms.com community at large. The full details can be found in our Terms and Conditions.

For People (Our Community of Creative Thinkers)

1. How do I qualify to join the PeopleStorms community?

The only qualifications are having a passion for creative thinking, an active email account, and being 18 years or older.

4. What are my responsibilities as a member of the PeopleStorms community?

The most important one is to provide great ideas for each brainstorm. Just respond to the email alert that PeopleStorms sends when someone posts a question, and provide your best ideas and opinions. Your other obligations as a PeopleStorms community member can be found here.

5. How do I earn rewards?

There are several ways to earn rewards on the site.

The first way is to have one of the top 3 ideas as voted by your fellow PeopleStormers. These ideas receive 40%, 20%, and 10% of the reward respectively.

The second way is to vote for your favorite ideas for any active PeopleStorm. While the reward lasts, PeopleStormers can earn 25 cents for each brainstorm they vote on, provided they cast votes for at least 10 of the brainstorm's ideas (or half the number of ideas, if there are fewer than 20 ideas for a brainstorm). It adds up fast!

The final way is to use our site's own proprietary WordStorms technology. By randomly combining words related to the brainstorm, Stormers can come up with amazing new ideas. The top two WordStorm suggestion for each brainstorm each receive 5% of the reward.

6. How do I get my reward?

Once the system counts the votes, the People who suggested the top three ideas will receive an email alert notifying them of their rewards. Rewards are paid via PayPal, our exclusive payment provider. Depending on the disbursement method you select on PayPal, it can take several extra days to finalize the transfer of your rewards to your selected account.

7. How long does it take to receive payments?

Payment are made with 30 days of the brainstorm closing.
